I'mhaving trouble getting avant go to work on the pacmate...I've posted about it on the pacmate mailing list but didn't really get any response so I thought someone over here might be able to help me.
I'm running version 4.0 of the pacmate firmware. I downloaded the avant go version 6.0 for windows pocket pc's, and created an account. I was able to add channels to my account and everything, and install it on my pacmate. but when I sync the pacmate and go to run avant go,it's not accessible at all. I thought it was supposed to come up looking like internet explorer. it doesn't at all. I have to use my jaws curser to navigate it, and even with that I really can't access anything. I can't bring up my channels or do anything and it's really weird. did I do something wrong or does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it work? I know they recomend it for the pacmate and apparently it's accessible but it doesn't seem to be for me.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Good evening Molody. I have never trie Avantgo on the pacmate specificly byt can offer a thought. The pacmate is running on Windows Mobile 2003 SE and you have the latest build. WHat I would suggest trying is Editing your partnership setting in active sync on your PC and making sure that the Avantgo checkbox is checked. Also make sure before you do this you uninstall the Avantgo software. When you have checked the box also tab one time to settings and press the spacebar. Now, here is where I am sketchy but I am sure you can figure it out. I don't know if you need to go to properties within settings or if the boxes will be there but you will need to put in your account info. ONce you do this you can sync the pacmate and all should be well. open Internet explorer and I believe in the favorites list you should see avantgo. Click on that and a webpage will come up displaying your channels as links. I had been using a Dell X50 running wm2003 and this worked well. Talk soon.
hey, thanks. I just tried it. I went to the settings and found where I enter my username and passwored (it was in properties.) and then I re-synced, and went to mobile favourites and entered on antgochannels, but it still brought up the page that says activating avantgo, blah blah. it was just explaining how to do it. it's like my pacmate isn't configured for the server or something, yet in the active sync settings on the desktop it says it is. I have noooo idea!
Good evening Melody. Try deleting the server info from your pacmate and then re entering it again. I believe the server is sync.avantgo.com with a port of 8080 but check it before you delete it. I had this probelm also and tried a bunch of things such as deleting the server, uninstalling the software from the pc and reinstalling it and I don't know which one worked. Try deleting the server first and re entering it.
